Preferences Preferences Window   To access the Preferences menu, choose Preferences from the File Menu, or type (Command-;): General General Live Windows: Turn this option on to enable live window dragging, for a more realistic feel. Realistic Knobs: This option changes the behavior of the volume and bass/treble knobs for a more realistic feel. Tooltips: AMP Radio will display tooltips in the station info window to describe all parts of it's player window. Useful for beginners. Change Creator/Type: This option will change all MP3 files AMP Radio plays to have AMP Radio creator codes. This means they will be associated with AMP Radio. Scroll info speed: This option will change how fast the information in the Info Window of the Player scrolls. Adjust it to suit your needs. Playlist Indicate Playback Folders: Turn this option on to enable marked folders, showing where the currently playing file is located. Version Control Check for updates: Turn this option on to enable version checking. For more information, see the "Version Checking" chapter of this manual. Input Millennium MPEG Streamer Network Cache: This determines how much of the stream AMP Radio will store in the RAM buffer. This works much like shock protection on a portable CD player. It will take a bit longer to begin playing, but it will skip much less often. Adjust depending on the current Internet connection. Recording Folder: Select the destination folder to which AMP Radio will record streams. Obtain Current Song Title(Disable for slower connections): This option will cause AMP Radio to display the ID3 information for Shoutcast and Live365 stations, showing the currently playing song's title. For slower connections, this option can be turned off. Millennium MPEG Decoder Disk Cache: This determines how much of the local file AMP Radio will store in the RAM buffer. This works much like shock protection on a portable CD player. It will take a bit longer to begin playing, but it will skip much less often. Live Input Start: This will allow AMP Radio to play audio coming into your computer. Choose the audio input from the SoundSource module in the Control Strip or Sound(Or Monitors & Sound) Control Panel. Stop: This will stop AMP Radio from playing outside audio. Live Input can also be stopped using the stop button on AMP Radio's Player Window. DSP Voiceover The voiceover plugin allows you to use your microphone over the current audio playing. If no audio is playing, Voiceover will NOT work. use Live Input for these instances. Voiceover is perfect for DJing parties or for use with your Internet radio station, to announce track titles. make sure your microphone is set as your Mac's input source for audio. Crossfade: This controls how high the volume of your mic input is in comparison to the audio from AMP Radio. Set it to about 75%(between 50/50 and Full Voice) for the professional radio sound of introducing tracks over their intros or outros. Enable: Turns Voiceover on. Pitch'n'Speed This controls the speed at which AMP Radio plays a file. The slider controls the speed of playback. Settings range from half speed to double speed. Enable: Turns Pitch'n'Speed on. Mono Enhancer The mono enhancer is an excellent way to make mono files and streams have the quality of stereo sound. Crossover: This controls how the bass is centered. If the crossover is set at 100 Hz, all frequencies 100 Hz and under will be centered, and all frequencies above 100 Hz will be spread. Enable: Turns Mono Enhancer on. Low Pass This plugin will filter out high frequencies, and pass on low frequencies to AMP Radio. It can be used to remove high hisses, and line-in noise, or just for fun. Set the cutoff to .01 and the bass to 100% for that "music from the drunken party in the upstairs apartment" sound. Cutoff: This controls where the cutoff occurs. The cut off is the point where high frequencies begin to attenuate. 2-stage processing: This will enable two-stage processing, causing the music to pass through the Low Pass Filter twice. Enable: Turns Low Pass on. Gain Gain is AMP Radio's internal volume control, in addition to the system volume. Enable: Turns Gain on. Bass/Treble Bass and Treble is AMP Radio's internal bass and treble control. Enable: Turns Bass and Treble on. 10-Band Equalizer This is AMP Radio's equalizer. Adjust the bands to tweak the sound for your desired performance. Choose from one of 6 presets as well. Enable: Turns the Equalizer on. Output AIFF Writer AIFF Writer allows you to make AIFF files out of your MP3 files, or other audio files. It can be used to record Real or QT streams. Then these files can be encoded as MP3s, to reduce their size. Finally, AIFF Writer can be used in conjunction with Live Input to create recordings from the microphone input. Note: Bass/Treble/Volume all affect AIFF files. Output Folder: Select the destination folder for the AIFF AMP Radio creates. Enable: Turns AIFF Writer on. AIFF Writer will write the next MP3 or audio file/stream played by AMP Radio to AIFF. Enter Code Enter Code: Enter the name and code, exactly as typed, sent in the "Thanks For Registering" e-mail. Register Online: Points the web browser to the Subband order page.
